We developed iClef with the aim of aiding our students in enhancing and streamlining their learning process. iClef is designed to assist users in mastering and honing fundamental notation skills, making it an invaluable tool for sight-readers. Whether one’s interest lies in learning the treble or bass clefs, or delving into less common options such as Soprano and Mezzo Soprano clefs, iClef provides a platform for refining one’s ability to effortlessly discern different pitches on the staff.

iClef encompasses six distinct clefs:

• Treble Clef: Also known as the violin clef or G clef, due to the encircling curl positioning the note G, this clef is utilized by high-pitched instruments like the violin, guitar, flute, and more.
• Bass Clef: Also referred to as the F clef, as the note F aligns with a specific line within its symbol. It is commonly found in use by low-sounding instruments such as the cello, double bass, and tuba.
• Alto Clef: Often referred to as the viola clef or C clef, with the middle line representing the note C, this clef is mainly employed by the viola and alto trombone.
• Tenor Clef: Less frequently utilized, it signifies the upper ranges of certain instruments like the cello and bassoon. Sharing a symbol with the alto clef but placed higher on the staff.
• Mezzo Soprano Clef: Positioned on the second line of the stave with a C-clef, commonly associated with Azerbaijani music and historically used for mezzo-soprano voices.
• Soprano Clef: Located at the first line of the stave within a C-clef, often seen in traditional keyboard music for sopranos and occasionally alongside alto clefs in viola da gamba pieces.
